A Little more of This and That!

Hey all! So…this week I finished those pesky edits with a final read-through, then made my changes I’d noted. That part’s not too bad. I really love the iPad kindle app for reading my ms. It feels like such a…a…a book!

Also, if I said, “I’m feeling a little woozy here.” Would you think of any particular movie? I need to know this in the comments.

I forgot my daughter for the 2nd time last Saturday. Band practice on Saturday is unnatural. It wasn’t a direct result of being consumed by characters upon a cruise ship. Nope. Band on Saturday is unnatural. And that is all.

We bought my son a new TV. Added a DVR box so he can watch and record shows. I’m doing everything I possibly can to keep him in his room. What else can I do? Mini-fridge? Ooooh, tha’ts not bad. Not bad at all.

Tuesday came this week. And I always know it’s Tuesday because I never fail to back right into the trash can by the street. Never. Fail. But hey, it’s better than leaving ruts in my yard. Which I do every time it rains. (Ruts don’t form on dry ground.)

I listened to my BFF vent big time this week (face to face not on text or face time) and when she finished I did what every good friend does. I laughed in her face. Isn’t that terrible??? But I couldn’t help it! Watching her flail her arms around and carry on all red-faced is hilarious. HIGH-LARIOUS. But don’t worry, I followed it up with a “I’m praying for you.” That always makes it better, right? Right?

Oh, let’s see, hey, when you’re sprinkling laxative into your, or someone else’s drink, do you really pretend like you’re pouring iocaine powder into a drink and either going to kill someone or drink it yourself like the Dread Pirate Roberts a.k.a. Westley (Princess Bride)? No? Just me then. Hmmm…

Well then, that’s all I got!

So tell me a little this or
that in your life this week!

  1. I needed the chuckles! I run my garbage bin over too. Well, it's more of a my-car-is-pushing-it-into-the-road and what's that draggy feeling? Not pretty. 🙂 Have an awesome weekend and DON"T forget to pick up your daughter!!

    1. Ha! Glad I'm not the only one. Pushing it to the edge of the street, yeah, that's what I'm doing too. 😉

  2. Be glad you don't live at my house. The 25-year-old maple in my backyard was consumed with tree rot and had to come down. Now I have a pile of tree truck and branches on either side of my drive way. They're 3 feet high! I keep expecting giant mutant beavers to show up. So far I haven't backed into them but I've come awfully close,

    1. Oh My Word! I bet it'll be the ROUS's lol!!!

  3. Girl, you make me feel so much better about myself!! Really. I hit the garbage can a couple weeks ago on the way to take Seth to school. I had him jump out to make sure everything was OK on the van. He said it was, so–quite relieved–I went on my merry way. The next day, Morgan and I can came out of Kroger to see the plastic brake-light covering broken. UGH!! I was sick about it for an entire a week. But next time I went to Kroger, I got the bright idea that someone else had broken my light. Not me, of course. Never me. (This, after backing into my husband's parked car TWICE in two months–the second time just two weeks after having the van's bumper replaced. I still hang my head in shame over that one.). Anyway, I backed a grocery cart up to the van and wouldn't you know? the handle comes level to the hole in the light. Phew! I told you it wasn't me!
    Jim is still not convinced…
Thanks for the laugh, my friend. And the unintentional boost to my spirit!

    1. This made me laugh so much and gave me relief. I thought I was the only one who got backed into all all the time. 😉 I barely bumped my dad's new truck when he was visiting over a decade ago and he STILL parks on the street now! LOL

  4. "I spent the last few years building up an immunity to iocane powder."
Well, not really … but I've always wanted to say that.
And my husband has learned to put the trash cans way far away from where I'll be backing out of our driveway … like over near our neighbor's driveway.

  5. Reading your this and that was fun. 🙂 My week was crammed full and I may have had a couple moments of "Whhhhhy is everything so hard this week???" Which is totally dumb because none of the stuff I had going on was all that bad, none of it was tragic or life-changing. 🙂 It was just a lot.

    But it's Friday…yaaaay!

  6. Thanks for making me smile this morning! I love the trash can ritual. 😀

  7. YAY for finishing your edits and final read-through! Woo Hoo! My this and that this week is too much goo to moo over, so we'll just leave it at that. 🙂 Hugs!

  8. It was a week of mainly making our new girl, Pitunia JezeBull, feel at home.

Had some metal-forming to do, and brought the hammers and dolly blocks over next to her crate. I mean, if that won't make someone feel at home, nothing will.

  9. Sooo made me laugh! Thanks! (And if you read today's post which will go live shortly, you'll know why). I personally think my refrigerator odyssey trumped your week.

    Love you in Jesus! 🙂
