My BFF “Jane” shared a video with me last week. It was about 5:30 a.m. when the text came through and it was THE perfect end to my study time with the Lord.
Praying you take a minute and bask in His presence. Read Psalm 139:6-8 from the Message translation while listening. We have so much to be thankful for today!
I’m thankful for His abiding presence.
God,
investigate my life;
investigate my life;
get all the facts firsthand.
I’m an
open book to you;
open book to you;
even from a distance, you know what I’m
thinking.
thinking.
You know
when I leave and when I get back;
when I leave and when I get back;
I’m never out of your sight.
You know
everything I’m going to say
everything I’m going to say
before I start the first sentence.
I look
behind me and you’re there,
behind me and you’re there,
then up ahead and you’re there, too—
your reassuring presence, coming and going.
This is
too much, too wonderful—
too much, too wonderful—
I can’t take it all in!
Is there
any place I can go to avoid your Spirit?
any place I can go to avoid your Spirit?
to be out of your sight?
If I climb
to the sky, you’re there!
to the sky, you’re there!
If I go underground, you’re there!
If I flew
on morning’s wings
on morning’s wings
to the far western horizon,
You’d find
me in a minute—
me in a minute—
you’re already there waiting!
Then I
said to myself, “Oh, he even sees me in the dark!
said to myself, “Oh, he even sees me in the dark!
At night I’m immersed in the light!”
It’s a
fact: darkness isn’t dark to you;
night and day, darkness and light, they’re
all the same to you.
fact: darkness isn’t dark to you;
night and day, darkness and light, they’re
all the same to you.
What are you thankful for today, concerning God?
"I’m never out of your sight."
Oh how I love that!
Psalm 139 – one of my all-time favorites. And I love this translation. I'm thankful for so many things, my Friend. The list is long and full of His grace and blessings.
Loved this, Jess!
I'm thankful that He's sooo patient despite all my pitiful faults.
Happy, Blessed Thanksgiving! (((HUGS)))
PS Guess what! Where there's a will, there's a way! After much tinkering over the wk end, I figured out what the issue was regardng not being able to comment. I switched browsers! So…. in order to comment on Blogger sites, I have to remember to temporarily default back to a previous browser. A pain, BUT hey! You're worth it! hahahaha 🙂
I've been reading a lot of verses in The Message lately and boy have they been connecting. Loved this one today:)
Beautiful! I need to get me a copy of this translation. Thanks for sharing, Jess.
