I can think of nothing that gives me warm shivers like the book of Song of Solomon, especially when I understand the meaning according to my Savior–the Lover of my soul. It’s a beautiful love letter (like all of the Bible), but it’s intimate. Lovely. And yes, even romantic.
Wednesday, we’ll unpack this verse. I think it’s fitting since this week we’ll be celebrating Valentine’s Day. There is no greater special Someone than Jesus Christ, Himself.
Musing/Meditation Prompts: Reflect upon the times Jesus has spoken to your heart words of affirmation, reassurance, hope. When was the last time He asked you to rise up and come away with Him? What did winter look like in your life before Jesus blew in a new season of spring? Muse on His goodness for seasons. The passing of old ones. The springing forth of new ones.
Uh…still with 2+ feet on the ground, I'm going with winter. Still in the thick of it. But in some ways I believe that's exactly what God's trying to say to me, "lo, the winter is past."

I saw those photos on fb! Wow! 🙂 I think I'm easing out of winter too.
A very dry season but I know God will send rain when it's the right time.
Love the Song of Solomon!!! It's SO romantic. 🙂
It is so romantic. I could do blog posts on it for years! lol
I definitely feel like I'm in a springtime. Lots of newness and green, open spaces. But I've been through winters…the winter of '11/'12 was especially hard for me. But God did a pretty huge work in my heart last spring…and then after that, I felt like the skies poured open with blessings. And I always feel like I need to add that I don't think God always or automatically waits for us to get it right in our heads and hearts before opening doors BUT in that particular instance, I do think the timing wasn't coincidental.
Excited to see how you unpack this verse on Wednesday!
I'm celebrating spring with you, Tagg! 🙂
That's a beautiful verse!
🙂 One of my favorites!
I feel like I am on the cusp of spring, but man is winter trying to hang on right now:) I see the little buds, I feel Him blowing in a new breeze–maybe I'm in the thaw right now! But I love how He moves in every season–and I love that picture behind your verse b/c that's what He does. Clasps our hand and doesn't let go. Asks us to rise up and come with Him, all the while holding our hand and guiding us.
I'm in the same season as you, Susan. And I'm thankful that He moves in every season as well. 🙂 Great insight.
If I looked out the window, I could claim a windy season. It is so windy today.
I'm in a transitional season. Call it a growing season, I guess. It's hard at times.
I'm going with Spring! God is ushering a new season in my life, having cleared out cobwebs and old growth. Allowing me to cultivate in His soul nutrient-rich soil, He has made room for new growth. A fresh season. New flowers are blooming. I like this Jesus Miracle-Gro. 🙂
I've been in a winter season for a long time it seems. Now I feel that God is taking me into spring. I would have gotten there sooner if I had just trusted Him to bring me to this point, I believe.
Definately in a hard winter. But I sense it would be easier if I would discipline myself and stick to priorities, being quiet-time with Him first. 🙂 Looking forward to looking at this verse tomorrow.
