Today is another fun day with author, @KatieGanshert! I’ve asked
her, Bethany, and Evan (her main characters) to play Would You Rather…! So let’s
get started.

get started.
Would You Rather…
Eat cookie dough or brownie batter?
Bethany:
Brownie batter. It’s the only thing I can bake without ruining. And it brings
back some good memories with my mom, before things flipped inside out. Whenever
she made brownies, she’d give one beater to me and one to my brother to lick.

Evan:
How about a nice pork tenderloin instead? Or one of Robin’s pies?

Katie:
Brownie batter! Sometimes I make brownies just so I can lick the bowl. Yum,
yum, yum.

live in a rockin treehouse or a sweet underground lair?
Bethany:
The tree house. It would probably feel a lot like the loft I live in now. And
I’d love to design it. Evan would probably never believe it, but I was a big
tree climber when I was a little girl.

Evan:
Tree house. My brothers and I built a really sweet treehouse when we were kids.
Sometimes I’d go up there at night and listen to the crickets.

fly or read minds?
Bethany:
Fly. Life would have been a lot easier when I was a kid if I could have left
all the junk on the ground and taken to the sky.

Read minds. I’d love to know what Bethany is thinking beneath that front she
works so hard to put up.

everybody’s private thoughts.

Thanks, Katie, for spending the week with us. We’ve laughed, been challenged and have had a great time all around!

emotional entanglements, she vows not to stay long. But the unexpected
inheritance of farmland and a startling turn of events in Chicago forces
Bethany to come up with a new plan.

Handsome farmhand

the land, he must fight her decisions to realize his dreams. But even as he
disagrees with Bethany’s vision, Evan feels drawn to her and the pain she keeps
so carefully locked away.

For Bethany, making
peace with her past and the God of her childhood doesn’t seem like the path to
freedom. Is letting go the only way to new life, love and a peace she’s not
even sure exists?

Fun! Loved Bethany, Evan and Katie's answers. As for me:
-Cookie dough. Mmm. Usually by the time I bake the cookies, I've eaten so much dough I'm not even hungry.
-Treehouse. Like Swiss Family Robinson!
-Fly. Reading minds would be way too scary. 🙂
It's been great to get to know Katie – and now her characters – this week!
~neither…I have a thing about raw eggs. I'm sure they'll kill me.
~Treehouse…I used to climb trees all the time as a child–still will if the branches look sturdy enough!–and was always wishing for a cool tree house.
~Fly…seriously, that would be too cool! No more traffic jams and the feeling of being weightless. I'm in love. Besides, Defying Gravity is one of my all-time favorite songs, so it'd be neat to actually do that.
Have a great weekend:)
Too much fun!
I say cookie dough, tree house & fly. Just call me Wendy (my name, right)…from Peter Pan. 😉
Clearly in need of more tea.

Fun!! For me, I'd say: cookie dough, underground lair, and read minds!
I have made brownies just for the dough. I know, it's not a shocker!
I would NOT want to read minds. Mine is always ridiculous, and I change my mind or chastise myself for thinking unkind thoughts. What if someone read my mind while I was on a mean rampage, but they missed the repentance part?? No!!
Have a great weekend!
Okay, I'll play.
Cookie dough. I guess. Unless 'both' is allowed.
Tree house. Not big on being underground and I like the sound of birds all around.
Fly. Nothing would be cooler.
Ok, I'm gonna play too!
Brownie batter for shizzle! Underground lair because I'm scared of open heights, but it does look cool. And I'm going with reading minds, again…open heights. 🙂
Thanks, Katie for being here this week and thanks everyone for playing along today! Have a great weekend!
Yay, what fun!
1) Neither. I know, I'm cheating. Somewhere along the line, someone scared me with thoughts of salmonella when you eat raw egg. No fun. But if I had to choose…cookie dough.
2) Tree house! I think I'd get claustrophobic in the underground lair. I'd love the feeling of freedom in a tree house.
3) Fly! Totally and completely.
Happy Friday!
Aw, man. I totally thought I left a comment this morning, but for some reason, it didn't go through. I shall try again!
Thanks so much for having me here on your blog all this week, Jessica! I can't wait to promote your book like crazy when (not if, but WHEN!) it comes out!
I've truly appreciated all your encouragement and support.
Also enjoyed reading everybody's WYR's.
It's been a fun week, Katie & Jessica!
I'm with Katie on the brownie batter…but I do love cookie dough. I used to work at our local Dairy Queen and recently my daughter went there for a field trip with school. They said: "Are you Gabe's little girl?" She said yes and the lady who worked there said: "Did you know we have a blizzard named after her? We always know it's her ordering it." The blizzard in question is a cookie dough with brownie chunks mixed in! It's like 1,600 calories, but I LOVE it!
