This week has been busy and it’s flown by. Tonight my house will be packed with teenage girls, as my daughter is turning 13 tomorrow! Happy Birthday, Boo! My friend “Jane” will be sleeping over as well.
Quite sure we’ll get into some kind of ridiculous mischief. We always do. She had to go and get her teaching degree and then to top it off she had to go and get a job, so our weekly adventures have only been through texts, but we go for some rides with those. We’re roasting dogs/mellows and then anything goes I guess.
I’m not doing NaNoWriMo. I’m editing. Always editing, but hey at least I have something to edit, right? I’m cheering all you writers who are participating on! Woohoo!
I’ve added a few new shows to my line up. Grimm, Once Upon a Time, Prime Suspect and Unforgettable. None of them will probably go over because anytime I get into a good show, they dump it.
I’m having moments with Green Apple Tootsie roll pops. Only don’t eat one after you brush your teeth. Not tasty.
And I’m loving Spotify because I can star songs and make playlists. I write to music and sometimes one song just gives me what I need for a scene, so I’ll listen to it on repeat. Sometimes a few times, sometimes for a couple hours. Literally. Hours.
Right now. Here’s the song I’m editing/rewriting to.
My favorite line is: “You’re a beautiful woman and I’m just a man.” That moment in the song feels so intimate and vulnerable. Chill bumps break out on my skin. My heart races and my stomach plummets to the floor. And there’s something about a piano and violin making sweet music love that sends me right over the edge. Or maybe I was listening to it while eating the green apple Tootsie roll pop…you decide.
It’s pretty awesome, huh?
What’s going on in your neck of the woods? Are you hooked on any new shows, candy, or songs?
Have a great weekend!
My week is crazy busy. I've been at our church every day except Wed painting and remodeling. I'm determined to get it all done by Sunday…That means midnight hours, etc.
Only wrote on my NaNo piece on Tuesday of this week. Haven't gotten any words in since then so I'm behind, of course. But next week is already looking better. IF I can finish the mural. 🙂
Yay for edits! 🙂 Can't wait to read your books in print!! yippee!
I'm hooked on Once Upon a Time, Revenge, and Pan Am. Oh, and thanks to my Mom, I'm now watching The Big Valley. So many great new shows! (except The Big Valley)
Do you have daily editing goals?
You're doing a great job as a NaNo cheerleader! I love it!
I'm working from home today, NaNoing, and possibly making a trip up to my local Mardel's. Happy Friday.
Took my twelve-year old to see Taylor Swift last week. Need to Breathe opened for her, and I fell in love with that band. Very good live!
Also, I'm hooked on The Walking Dead on AMC right now. Such a good show with amazing writers. (And I'm so not a zombie person.)
Oh, and I'm going to my first UK game this year tomorrow. I'm only in it for the tailgating this year.
Love this gallop around your life this week. 🙂
I'm doing the NaNo thing sorta, trying to add 50K to a WIP.
Schooling the kiddo, trips to Bball practice, gearing up for games.
Next week I'm going on a wicked cool tour of the James J. Hill House in St. Paul. I've toured the house many times, but this time I get a special behind-the-scenes look at areas not normally seen by the public. Squee! Perfect for this history-geek writer.
I hope the party is tonz of fun for everyone.
I'm looking forward to a lunch date with my real-life sister who also writes romance. We'll stake out a table for hours and talking writing to our hearts' content. Fun!
Oh, your party sounds like a blast! We have girlies the same age! 13 is such a magical time!
When I do have time for television I alternate between these classics: The Waltons, Andy Griffith, and I Love Lucy. I used to watch DWTS, but unfortunately, it became a bit too wacky for my taste…
Happy Friday! 🙂
Must get myself one of those tootsie pops. I am never one to miss out on good candy. 🙂 I think I'm hooked on Once Upon a Time, too. Interested to see where it goes…
As for music love, umm, I'm guessing you've got a pretty good idea on that. Coldplay all the way…the new album is a-ma-zing!
Happy birthday to your Boo!! Should be fun tonight, eh?
I am attempting to do Nano this year. First time. But at the same time I will have to get some editing in though too as soon as a cp goes over my revisions. Busy, busy month!
Any yes, I'm hooked on candy. Any kind will do:)
I'm also also hooked on the song Fireworks by Katy Perry
Hopefully, you're wrong about Unforgettable. That's my favorite of the new ones I tried.
Like you, Jessica, I'm NOT doing NaNoWriMo, but I am starting a new book–yay! It's the fourth in my series and I'm having fun.
Looking forward to having an out-of-town guest (a friend from Jr. High and High School) come stay with me for a few days next week.
Have fun with all those 13 year olds!
Love the song.
Sounds like you're going to have a blast tonight! I give you a bravery award!
I'm not NaNoing, but revising. Almost finished.
I love that expression "your neck of the woods" – what is the neck of the woods, anyway? Makes me feel warm, welcome, at home.
I keep hearing about that show "Grimm". I have no idea what it's about though.
I'm editing too and writing. Though, no NaNo or me either.
And of course I'm in the middle of kitchen re-do. Fun, fun.
I hope the party is fabulous!
I am so with you on Once Upon a Time and Grimm! LOVE those shoes. There's also one premiering Dec 4th on SciFi–Neverland. The other show I got hooked on this year was Hart of Dixie–a nice southern show with a NY kick. lol… Lots of laughs.
Loving Once Upon a Time too, eating my popcorn and Kit Kats and trying to catch up with all the leaves. Oh, and get some writing in – starting something new while trying to finish something old. Now if the people I've created will just cooperate…
Saw the first episode of Once Upon a Time and LOVED it! You're right. It's sure to be a goner. The last time I liked a new show so much it was "Push, Nevada" or something like that. Lasted 4 episodes – I think. So sad!
No nano for me. I hope your shows last. Grimm sounds particularly interesting.
Beautiful song too. I love the instrumentals on it!!
Such a great post! Love visiting your blog!

I am always late to the game for TV shows. I never seem to watch them when they are actually on television. I don't have a DVR and I work crazy hours, so it is hard to catch a show every week.
I usually wait until the show is off the air and then watch the whole thing on DVD or Netflix Instant.
I just finished watching Scrubs and only discovered Prison Break last week. That and Sons of Anarchy at a friends house are the only shows I watch right now.
