I cast Ezra based on Paul Wesley because a friend of mine has been badgering me for years to make one of my heroes look like him. I finally had enough and did it. 🙂
Ezra was harder for me to write because he isn’t a man who could be described as an alpha male. I’m better at writing those types. But I fell in love with his soft, artsy character.
Sierra Bradley was hard to write too because she seemed too perfect from the other books and I was afraid I’d written myself into a corner.
When I knew I was going to use Sierra as a character in a book (during the writing of Just the Way You Are) I went back and gave her a name I really liked.
The idea for their plot came from a song I heard on the radio and it’s on the Soundtrack: Rude by Magic. I thought about doing a fun video to it (because I’m ridiculous and clearly have no shame) and posting it for ya’ll. My daughter refused to let me. Sorry. Blame her.
It’s Always Been You has my favorite Pinterest board. I begged my husband to let us get married again just so I could have a rustic wedding. He said no. Men. *sigh*
I found the paintings online that matched Sierra perfectly because I’d already cast her as Isla Fisher and given her red hair. I was shocked and amazed.
I can’t paint worth a penny.
I love the song by Carrie Underwood (on the Soundtrack) because I pictured them jumping in the water. I also envisioned a Hallmark movie moment too. Hey I just realized she’s a country artist…so I guess More Than Words doesn’t have the only country song on it! PS my daughter introduced me to this song too.
I loved using my “alpha males” to razz Ezra for being a pretty boy. The baseball scene is one of my favorites. Even Pastor Gabe joins in.
